Jessie Gheen
Hometown: Amissville Accomplishments: Jessie is a 1999 graduate of Rappahannock County High School and is currently attending Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton. She is majoring in Business Administration and made the Dean’s List last semester. She is also a Phi Theta Kappa member. Jessie is the daughter of Ralph and Jody Gheen of Amissville and has one brother, Justin, age 12. She has been employed at Amissville Nursery since March 1999 and knows a lot about plants. Just walk in and ask Jessie what plant can sustain sun, shade, whatever and you will be shocked at what this young lady can tell you about plants. Nursery owners, Paul and Connie Payne cannot say enough nice things about Jessie. Mrs. Payne remarked, “hardworking, trustworthy, reliable...". Jessie is a member of Amissville Baptist Church and participates in their youth group. She has also been a Volunteer 4H Counselor at the center in Front Royal and was very active in 4-H for many years. She is also a past girl scout. Jessie currently serves as a child care provider for The Inn at Washington. She also babysits for several families and enjoys hiking and working with the youth. Now that spring has arrived, stop by Amissville Nursery and meet Jessie, “the plant queen.”
