Band Booster meeting set
The Rappahannock County Band Boosters will meet Thursday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Everyone is invited. For information call John Wiese at 937-9909.
Fodderstack 10-K 2000
On Saturday, April 15 the 22nd annual Fodderstack 10-K Race will be run from Flint Hill to Washington. There are 11 categories again this year.
Bus service begins from Washington to Flint Hill at approximately 8:45 a.m. Registration in Flint Hill at the volunteer fire department starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 9:30 in time for the race’s start at 10. Pre-registration (postmarked by April 8) is $17, and $20 the day of the race. For additional information and/or registration forms call 675-7171 or 675-3342.
Kindergarten registration underway
Kindergarten registration is currently underway at Rappahannock County Elementary School and will continue Thursday, April 6 from 9 a.m. until noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. by appointment only. For appointments and/or information call RCES at 987-8259.
Services Board to meet
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at its Bradford Road Office. Individuals with disabilities who require special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting should contact Paula Benenson at 825-3100, extension 3146 or 825-7391 (TDD).
Sharp Rock Vineyards open
Sharp Rock Vineyards is open every Saturday from noon until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The vineyards are also open by appointment during the week. To reach the vineyards from Sperryville take Route 231 approximately eight miles, turn right onto Sharp Rock Road and go one plus miles and the winery is on the right. Spring event planned
The Washington Baptist Church will hold its annual “Spring Event” during the Fodderstack Race on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the public is invited. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, drinks, baked goods, popcorn and snow cones. For those looking for bargains, there will be a Grandma’s Attic yard sale with many quality items. The proceeds from this event will go toward the Church Building Fund. For more information contact the church at 675-3336.
