Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 4 at First Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Robert Mark Jordon assisted by Rev. John Oliver, Pastor Emeritus. Interment followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Charles Wood

Charles Dudley Wood, 60, of Sarasota, Fla., died on March 9 at M.D Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, after a short illness.
Bom in Warren County, Mr. Wood grew up in Rappahannock County and graduated from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and received a MS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
A principal vice-president with Bechtel Corporation, he was recently transferred from London to Houston.
He was the son of Brereton Jones and Lucy Dunn Wood of Sunny Slope Farm in Flint Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Margaret Pruitt Wood; two daughters, Mary Pinckney Wood of Philadelphia, Pa. and Emily Brereton Wood of Alexandria; one sister, Frances Wood Charles of Birmingham, Ala.; an uncle, Charles Burrell Wood of Blacksburg; an aunt, Nellie Wood Smith of North Garden and several first cousins.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Sarasota, Fla. on March 15.
