The Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office is investigating two shooting incidents that occurred in the Castleton area on the night of March 3031 that may be related.
At about 12:55 a.m. on March 31, it was reported that a light fixture at the end of the entrance of driveway of a borne on Rt. 618 had been shot aut. Deputy Mark Currence Investigated, and was told that the incident probably occurred between 11:30 p.m. on March 30 and 12:50 a.m. on March 31, when it was reported.
Later on March 31, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a man who reported that a cow belonging to his laughter that was being kept In a field on Rt. 626, just past

The Rappahannock County harden Club will once again offer the Francis J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship to a sfenior in Rappahannock Dounty for the purpose of con:inuing his or her education. ' A grant of $1500 will be iwarded to a student enrolling n a four year college or university. $1,000 will be given ;he first year and $500 in the second year.
An applicant must be a •esident of Rappahannock bounty, a member of this vear’s graduating class (home schooled or other schools), be iccepted at an accredited four rear school, have a need for inancial assistance and be 'ecommended by three nonrelative residents of Rappahannock County.
Applications for the grant ire available at the guidance lepartment of the Rappahannock County High School or from Mrs. Irwin R. £ilby, 987-8741.
The deadline for returning he applications is May 22.
