This is a safe and. well chaperoned alternative event for students’ after the prom. We have begun recruiting parent and community volunr teers to help man exhibits, keep drink tubs filled, animals watered, and so much more. If you are willing and able to volunteer one or two hours on thjB morning of Friday, May 26 to help insure the success of this special day for our children, please call Jan Makela, Volunteer Coordinator, at 9878259.
• On Sunday, April 9 RCMS seventh grade student Anna Kreyling will travel to Richmond to compete in the Regional Spelling Bee sponsored by the Richmond Times Dispatch.
• We have amazing volunteers at Rappahannock County High School! In the Computer Lab there are folks who spend hours just insuring that the lab is supervised so that students may use it whenever they need it. It is a difficult job to keep the lab staffed with volunteers on a daily basis and Mrs. Judy Tole deserves tremendous gratitude for the enormous effort she puts into that task.
Volunteers who answer phones in the Guidance Office at the high school allow the secretaries the time they need to perform other important duties. We are so grateful to all those wonderful folks, many of whom are not parents but just wonderful generous friends of public education.
The spirit of volunteerism is everywhere in Rappahannock. Those who involve themselves in volunteer activities for the betterment of our county and its citizens are among the most positive and happy folks around. Please thing about volunteering in our public schools. Making a difference in the life of a child will have an enduring effect, both for you and for future generations. ; •
