1,000 homes and the owner was willing to sell or consider extending service to Amissville. (At the Dec. 6, 1999 supervisors meeting our request for a study was denied and the opportunity to purchase the Wildwood system for $1 was also killed.)
Our Dec. 30, 1998 letter further suggested that commercial zoning be provided that could support a small shopping center to furnish additional services to Amissville similar to those available in other county villages. The Dec. 30, 1998 letter was furnished to Mr. Miller when his AACA group was later formed.
As a result of the Dec. 30, 1998 letter, Mr. Raymond Brown requested that the Planning Commission be briefed on ideas for Amissville. On Feb. 17, 1999 a briefing was given as requested. As a result the commission gave their approval for the ACPC to proceed to study the following areas:
1) An Amissville Commercial Area Plan.
2) An Amissville Route 211 Enhancement Project.
3) An Amissville Village/Town Study.
4) Monitor the progress of the new Post Office.
The commission requested they be kept informed on work in progress. Funding for studies was to be budgeted by Mr. McCarthy.
During the August 1999 Rappahannock Planning Commission meeting the representatives from each district were requested to submit names of individuals to be tasked to do development and boundary studies of the villages in their areas. My name was one of those submitted by Mr. Brown. It later became apparent at coordination meetings with AACA leadership members
