The church choirs of Washington, under the direction of Mrs. Catherine Wood Cahan, will present an Easter Cantata for mixed voices, “The Everlasting Christ,” by R.C. Wilson, on Good Friday evening, April 7. Lucy Mae Smith is accompanist. Dudley Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. BJ. Wood of Flint Hill, sold two hogs, weighing over 500 pounds, at Front Royal Livestock Market, March 30 for the sum of $86.82. Dudley bought the two pigs Sept. 24, 1949, at which time they weighed about 50 pounds each. L.R. Hudson of Slate Mills sold a trout stream recently to Capt. Fred Kochly (U.S. Army, Ret.) of Washington, D.C. The stream, known as Broken Back Creek, goes around the Old Rag Mountain near Nethers Mills.
