Amendment of FY 2000
Town of Washington Budget
On Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. the Town Council of Washington, Virginia shall hold a Public Hearing at the Town Hall in Washington, Virginia, to consider amending its current fiscal year budget.
The nature of the amendment is to expend $175,000.00 plus settlement costs to acquire a certain parcel of real estate, briefly described as Tax Map Parcel 19-71A containing 21.0293 acres, more or less, situate on Virginia Route 626 in Hampton Magisterial District, Rappahannock County, Virginia. Additionally, the Town will consider the expenditure of additional sums for engineering and other studies relating to the property not to exceed $10,000.00. A copy of the option agreement relating to the acquisition of the real estate is on file at the Town Clerk's office and at the Zoning Administrator's office and may be inspected during normal business hours.

NOTICE OF RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY
DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee hereby announces that it will hold an assembled caucus on Monday, April 17, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. at The Theatre at Washington on Gay Street, Washington, for the purpose of electing 5 delegates and 2 alternates to the 10th Congressional District Convention and the 2000 Virginia State Democratic Convention and to consider resolutions to be forwarded to such District and State Conventions. In accordance with the Virginia Democratic Party Plan, the Rappahannock County Democratic Caucus is open to all Democrats registered to vote in Rappahannock County. Persons wishing to be candidates for Delegate shall fill out and submit a filing form along with a voluntary administrative fee of $25.00. Alternates shall be chosen as the next highest vote-getters. On the filing form, preference for Presidential candidate, and US House of Representatives candidate or “Uncommitted” will be stated. Completed forms and fees may be mailed to RCDC, P.O. Box 277, Washington, VA 22747 or given to one of the officers: Meredith Gorfein, Lillian Aylor, Floyd Stilley or Andy Platt. In all cases the forms must be in the hands of an officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2000. Slates may be formed, and the same deadline and rules shall apply. Delegate Filing Forms, copies of the Call to Caucus, and the Temporary Rules for the Caucus are available at the Registrar of Voters’ office on Gay Street, Washington, during their regular business hours, or by calling Meredith Gorfein, 675-3515 or Floyd Stilley, 675-1930. On Monday, April 17, the doors to the Caucus will be opened at 6:30 for the check-in/certification process. All participants of the Caucus shall sign a standardized declaration form stating that he or she is a Democrat; does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic Nominee in the next General Election; is not a member of any other political party; has not participated and will not participate in the nominating process of any other Party for the 2000 Presidential election; and is a registered voter in Rappahannock County. Caucus Declaration Forms must be filled out at the Caucus prior to participating in the Caucus. At 7:30 p.m., the doors to the Caucus will be closed and no person may complete a form and participate in the Caucus after that time with the exception of those persons in line to check in at 7:30 p.m. The 10th Congressional District Convention will convene on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centreville High School, Centreville, VA, and the 2000 Virginia State Democratic Convention will convene at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at the Scope Convention Center, 201 East Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA and continue through Saturday, June 3,2000.
