June Jordan of the Fodderstack Pottery, Washington will be featured as artisan of the month at Antiques & Artisans in Georgetown each weekend Saturday and Sunday, during the month of April. She will take her potter’s wheel to Georgetown and demonstrate her craft as well as exhibit and sell her wares which include mugs, jugs, vases, pitchers, bird forms and many cfthers. She opened the Fodderstack Pottery in 1965 in one of oldest buildings in the town. The Town of Washington has received a letter from Washington, N.C. inviting the town to enter a float or car in its Bicentennial parade scheduled for August 1976. The letter noted that Washington, N.C. was the first and oldest Washington. Mrs. Virginia Miller, Treasurer of Washington, Va. said they should reply to the invitation on their stationery which has imprinted, Washington, Va., The First Washington Of All. It seems that all of the Washingtons claim to be the first. Trout fishing season opened at noon Saturday and in spite of the high winds anglers were right there. Turnout was not as great as in previous years for not as many streams had been stocked this season.
