Concert slated
The Rappahannock County Elementary fifth, sixth and seventh grade bands and the Rappahannock Elementary Chorus invite the general public to their Spring Concert on Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School auditorium.
This live concert will be recorded on compact disc for future listening enjoyment. Please join us in our air conditioned high school auditorium. The spring program book with advertisements that help to underwrite senior scholarships will be distributed at this concert.

The recycling container located at the Washington fire hall will be removed on Friday, June 9. The Flatwood Refuse and Recycling Center will be open Wednesday through Sunday beginning June 10 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For additional information call 987-8985 or 675-3342.
Conservation
Easements?
We’ve all heard of “open space” or “conservation” easement? But what actually are they, how do they work and is it something you can take advantage of? In addition, easements can be a valuable community planning tool. These are aspects that may not be so clear to many.
You can leam more about the easement program at the next Amissville Area Community Association meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 at the Amissville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bob Dennis, the second landowner in Rappahannock to form such an easement in the county and head of PEC for 15 years will speak on “Open Space” easements and answer questions on the program.
The session is one in the association’s community planning program to inform residents on ways to maintain the area’s unique rural character. Residents and anyone interested are welcome to attend. Association membership is open to all area residents. The meeting will also include planning for the July 4th celebration and proposed Fall Festival and an open discussion on the possible local golf course.
