Services Board to meet
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold a public hearing to receive comments on services provided under its Area Plan for Aging Services and services provided under the Performance Contract with the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services on June 13 at 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper beginning at 1 p.m.
Following the public hearing the board will hold its regular monthly meeting. Individuals with disabilities who require special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting should contact Paula Benenson at 825-3100, extension 3146 or 825-7391 (TDD).
Burke reunion planned

Hospice offers support group
Hospice of the Rapidan presents a free Education and Support Group for anyone who has lost a loved one through death, divorce, or relocation, to learn coping techniques for managing the resulting emotional stress. Open to everyone, not just Hospice families. Beginning Tuesday, June 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the group will meet weekly at the hospice office in Mulberry Commons, 1200 Sunset Lane, Suite 2320 in Culpeper. Amissville seeking contestants
The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is now seeking contestants for Queen, ages 14-20; Jr. Miss, ages 8-13; Little Miss, ages 3-7 and Little Mister, ages 3-7. For more information contact Sandi Carter at 937-4218. The carnival will be held June 28-July 1.
Artists ’ host Middle Street show
Beads-Fiber-Clay by the Helen Banes Group enlivens the Middle Street Gallery for a celebration now through June 30. Nineteen artists comprise the Helen Banes Group, mentored by author and fiber artist Helen Banes. For almost two decades they have explored ancient and exotic cultures. Experimenting with contemporary media and techniques these artists have created art jewelry, wearables and wall art in celebration of their diversity.
Middle Street Gallery is located next to The Inn in Washington with gallery hours from Friday until Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. *
Trail ride scheduled
The Rappahannock Hunt will sponsor a summer trail ride on Saturday, June 11 at Hazel Ridge, Rixeyville at 10 a.m. Western and English riders are welcome. Health/Screening programs planned
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center: June 14 and 18 at 1 p.m., program by Barbara Creasy, Stress and June 21 at 1 p.m., program on Medicare B by Bod Craig of United Health Care.
