for the girls on our High School Soccer Team after last week’s 6-0 win in the Regional Tournament on Wednesday! With Coach Carl Gray’s blessing the Seniors on the team went on the Senior Trip with their class, leaving the underclassmen to represent RCHS in the tournament. This was a difficult decision for everyone on the team after an incredibly successful season of District play. However, the underclassmen rose to the challenge and came home victorious! Assistant Coach Pud Maeyer had faith from the beginning, telling this writer the day of the game that RCHS “will win!" congratulations to everyone!
• The Band Boosters have a full agenda for the next few months. There are enough opportunities planned that any child who would like to perform should have ample opportunities to do so. This writer has had the pleasure of watching Mrs. lynne Fournier, Band Director, teach on several occasions this year, and she is amazing. It is evident that she loves music, her job and the kids equally! It is exhausting to watch her instruct, and the student concerts display the “fruits of her efforts.”
• The fifth, sixth and seventh grade Band Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 at 9 a.m. at RCES, and Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at the high school. Please note the change of location. Come early for the best available seating.
• The 8-12th Grade Band will play for graduation on June 10 and this is sure to be a special performance! Band members will be marching in the Washington and Flint Hill firemen’s parades this summer, as well as the July 4th parade in Washington. Please watch for them at all of these events and cheer loudly!
• On Tuesday, a group of Band students and chaperones traveled to the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington for a concert by the U.S. Marines
