• Thanks to the generosity of the Curriculum Enrichment Program, Interact Theatre visited RCES for two presentations of “One Gold Coin”, and a workshop, for kindergarten through second grade students, on Thursday, June 1. The moral of the story was one of sharing; of how the more you give the more good things will be returned to you. It was presented with a multicultural twist, highlighting Latin culture. Many thanks to CEP member, Mrs. Theresa Light, for scheduling this event.
• RCES Fifth Grade classes will be taking a Field Trip to the Shenandoah National Park to study Geology on June 13 and 14. This promises to be a wonderful trip; however, there are several strict guidelines that must be followed. If you have not yet seen information on this trip, please contact one of the fifth grade teachers as soon as possible at 987-8259.

• RCHS Parent Volunteer Mrs. Patty Metcalfe and Math teacher Mrs. Frieda Herman reported in RCHS News and Views that the Annual Trig Star competition was held on April 14. In this event, sponsored by the Bull Run Association of Professional Surveyors, the students solve practical surveying problems using trigonometry. This year’s RCHS winner was Colin Treanor! Congratulations!
