Sharp Rock Vineyards of Sperryville, one of Rappahannock County’s youngest wineries, won a Silver medal for its 1999 Chardonnay Reserve and a Bronze medal for its 1999 Cabernet Franc at the annual Virginia Governors’s Cup wine competition.
More than 200 wines were judged at the annual event, which has become the state’s most prestigious competition. The Virginia Wineries Association sponsors this competition.
