Anyone interested in participating in regular tennis playing groups or on an individual basis is welcome to contact Hunt Harris via e-mailing hunt@mnsinc.com or calling 987-3366. An attempt will be made to get a list together according to levels of play and experience as well as preferred time of availability. E-mail, phone and fax #’s are recommended. Mr. Harris will also be offering group and individual instruction throughout the summer according to interest so dates and times of preference would be good to include.
Nursing applications accepted
Applications for the one-year Practical Nursing and two-year Registered Nursing programs at Lord Fairfax Community College will be accepted now through July 1. The testing, which is a part of the application process, will be held Thursday, June 15 at 4 p.m. at the Dowell J. Howard Center in Winchester. Students attending either the Fauquier Campus or the Middletown Campus may test at this location. Call 540-722-3458 to schedule a testing time or to receive additional information about this program offering.
Career Resource Center now open
The Rappahannock Career Resource Center has just opened. It will provide assistance to citizens in searching for job opportunities and in preparing job applications.
The office is located in the basement level of the Rappahannock County Library. The current hours of operation are Monday 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday 1 to 5 p.m. The phone is 675-2631.
Benefit concert scheduled
The Rappahannock Quintet's sparkling folk chamber music will be the highlight of a Friends of the Culpeper County Library benefit concert on the evening of June 9 at 7:30 at the library community room. The evening performance is courtesy of Young, Nichols, Branner and Phillips, L.L.P. and Davies, Barrel!, Will, Lewellyn & Edwards, PC. Their contributions have made the appearance of the Rappahannock Quintet possible.
At intermission, desserts will be served. A $10 donation is requested. Tickets may be obtained at the library or reservations may be made by calling the library at 825-8691.
