Work begins to
expand 211/229
commuter lot
Crews from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) have begun work to expand the commuter parking lot on US 211 near the intersection of Route 229 in Culpeper County. The lot is located less than one mite west of the Fauquier County line.
When completed, the new lot will have nearly 50 parking places, an increase from the current 24 designated spaces (additional cars fit into the lot by parking along the edges of the lot).
VDOT crews currently are grading the back portion of the lot and will level and cover the lot with stone within the next month. Although crews won't be able to pave and mark the lot until later this spring or summer, individuals will be able to use the new portion of the lot once the stone is set.
