The American Robin, (Turdus migratorius) is a member of the thrush family and is one of the bestknown birds in North America.
Thrushes have many similarities including large eyes, long legs for their size and strong bodies. Robins are the largest member of the thrush family. The word "thrush" means wanderer and the family also includes the Wood Thrush and Hermit Thrush.
