Opening with a strong take down, Smythe gave up the only earned points from a reversal in the first period. Scoring four straight take downs, the match was put out of reach with a three point near fall late in the third period.

Chris Grave (160) continued his senior leadership of the team with a pin over Barnes. Leading the entire match, Graves opened the first and second periods with take downs and showed his strength in controlling his opponent on the mat.

Wearing his opponent down, Graves pinned 54 seconds into the second period. Foreign exchange student, senior Daan Riemeijer, having just recently earned his starting spot, made up for lost time by pinning his opponent in 1:20. Although losing to his opponent 15-1, sophomore Jeff Scroggins made FD go the distance.
