Ywahoo, also known as Standing Bear, 53, died quietly on the morning of Dec. 16, 2000 of cancer due to agent orange exposure.
He is remembered by wife Mary Carnahan, also by first wife Deborah, their children Heather, 27, and Erick, 25, by his daughter Gabrielle, 10, and by many, many friends.
Ywahoo was born in a milking stall on June 14, 1947, on the Pine Ridge Agency, South Dakota- His mother passed before he knew her.
His father took him to the Minneconjou reservation in northwestern Montana to live with his maternal grandparents, Morning Star and Standing Bear.
