Unknowable
Some people take it on faith that, when death approaches, they will be able to fathom its mystery. Why, they reason, should this final act be any less explainable than other life events? The final irony is that only by dying can one come to know what it means to undergo this final transformation. As one of the faithful, Indian poet/philosopher Rabindranath Tagore posited, "Even so, in death the same unknown will appear as ever known to me. And brcause I love this life, I know I shall love death as well. The child cries out when from the right breast the mother takes it away, in the very next moment to find in the left one its consolation.”
