pated in the District 14 Banti Competition at Loudoun Valley High School on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 2 and 3. Many of our students auditioned for this band from the middle and high schools.

By audition scores the following students were selected for various bands: Samantha Breeden, Piccolo, Symphonic Band; Brittany Bradley, Bass Clarinet, Symphonic Band; Wendy Gillis; Alto Sax, Concert Band; Kelsey Hutcheson, Bassoon, Middle School Band; Jacob Stilley, Trombone, Middle School Band; Lauren Powell was first alternate on Oboe; Holly Long was first alternate on Piccolo.

The bands rehearsed for eight hours Friday and five hours on Saturday and then played a concert for the public Each band, made up of 110 students from all schools in District 14, had a guest codductor. District 14 includes Winchester, Loudoun, Warren, Strasburg and Frederick counties. ,

These students represent the highest band achievement for our area, and have worked on their own to master scales and sight reading. Congratulations to them all. ,
