Both teams travel to Brentsville District High School for the final game of the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Bull Run District quarterfinals will kick-off on Tuesday, Feb. 20 and involve the Varsity team only.
The Panthers are currently in sixth place with a 2 and 9 record. They will most likely face either Madison or Clarke County High Schools at their home court for the opening game of the District playoffs.
Volleyball
The Lady Panthers finished their season this past week with a quiet defeat at Brentsville. Prior to that, they lost their last contest of the regular season against that same Brentsville Tiger team right here at home on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Unable to sustain their attack, the Lady Panthers lost two games to none by the score of 15 to 3 and 15 to 13. That lose, which gave the Lady Panthers a 2 and 10 regular season District record, set them up for a quarterfinal game at the home of the Lady Tigers on Thursday, Feb. 8.
The Junior Varsity Panthers had finished their season on that same Tuesday, but with a different outcome. The JV squad beat the JV Tigers two to none by the score of 15 to 10 and 15 to 11. The JV Panthers finished their season with a respectable five District wins.
Together with the young squad that currently exists on the Varsity, this should be a good sign for the next few years.
