Lions Club plan auction

The Rappahannock Lions Club will hold their annual auction on Saturday, May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. If you have items to donate, please call Henry B. Wood at 987-3301 or Joel Daczewitz at 987-8395. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

Bake sale slated

A bake sale to benefit the Carolyn’s Love. Laugh and Live group will be held on Friday, April 13 beginning at 9 a m. at the Shoe Show in Royal Plaza Shopping Center. The group is part of the Rappahannock Relay for Life team.

This weekend at Blue Moon

The Catfish Hodge Trio will be performing on Friday, April 13 at Blue Moon Cafe just west of SperryvHle. Vincent Day/Dinah Pehrson Band will perform on Saturday, April 14.

Spring concert scheduled

The Front Royal Oratorio Society announces its spring concert, “Choral Works of the Masters", an overview of the last 1,500 years of beautiful choral music. The performances, directed by George T. Amos with accompaniment by Judy Connelly will be presented Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Boggs Chapel, Randolph-Macon Academy, Front Royal and Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at Braddock Street United Methodist Church, Winchester.

The chorus of over 50 singers, from six surrounding counties, will perform many favorites of the choral literature along with other less well-known but equally exciting works, accompanied by interesting program notes from Mr. Amos. The featured soloist will be mezzo-soprano, Jihanna Charlton.

There is no charge for admission. A free-will offering will be taken during intermission. For more information call 622-6974.

Funds are now available for housing repairs. Do you: need running water in your house; an indoor bathroom; own your house and/or have limited income. If you answered “yes” to the above questions, funds are available now to help you.

The funds are part - grant and part - zero percent interest loan. If you live in Rappahannock County call 540-948-3274 and request an application for the IPR Program.

Playgroup meets on Friday
