Dr. Gangel also raised the issue of field trip bus driver salary rates and difficulties in obtaining willing drivers for evening and weekend trips. Mr. Raines told the Board that the school system was having increasing problems in signing drivers for the trips, and he recommended that salaries for such trips be increased from $6.78 per hour of drive time plus the driver's daily rate, to $10.00 per hour plus the daily rate, and the Board approved this request as well.
