Beverly Leathers, Director of Rappahannock Department of Social Services, has announced that it has joined forces with communities across the state, by joining VEFC (Volunteer Emergency Families for Children).
Started in 1979, VEFC recruits and supports host families. These families in turn extend the hospitality of their own homes to children and youth, ranging in age from birth to age 17, who need a safe place to stay in a crises. Michelle Moore, VEFC Regional Coordinator for Rappahannock and Fauquier Counties, was in Washington on March 22 to finalize the agreement.
