It was only last September that Rappahannock’s Johanna Day, along with Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Shenkman, and Larry Bryggman, opened the play Proof at the Walter Kerr Theater on Broadway. Proof is Johanna’s first appearance on Broadway, and what an appearance it has been.
The play has received rave reviews from all of those uptown critics, and has reaped a host of awards including the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the 2001 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Play, the 2001 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress (Mary-Louise Parker), and the 2001 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Director (Daniel Sullivan).
