Meredith Miller of the
Hillsboro Elementary
School in Loudoun County,
who asked, “What if all the w". children of the world made
a painting together?” 7* The first phase of the r-*. project will attempt to
answer Meredith’s quesrit/tion—at least on a local L<- level—by seeing what happens
when all of the chil*•; dren of Rappahannock -o County make a painting ... together.
Ms. Marshall designed a an image for the mural V based upon the book, “The ’ - Singing Tree”, by Kate \ Seredy. “The Singing Tree” ’■ tells the story of a lone *'• tree that became a refuge
for all species of birds on •y* an otherwise denuded
World War I battlefield,
and that served to speak .,v to the soldiers of the goodness
and abundance of “ - Nature. ' V “The goal of the pro^ ject,” Ms. Marshall said,
