Nature Camp

The 14th annual Rappahannock Nature Camp will be held Monday through Friday, July 2 to July 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers will be enrolled on a first-comefirst-served basis, so apply early! It is open to boys and girls ages nine to 13. The camp’s home base will be at Singing Creek, along the Hazel River, two miles west of Route 231.
The Rappahannock Nature Camp is one of ten similar camps initiated by the Piedmont Environmental Council in northern and central Virginia. The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection is the local co-sponsor.
Lyt Wood, local arborist and one of the camp’s founders, is the camp’s director. For information, call Mr. Wood at 675-1088, or pick up a brochure at Tree Works office (next door to the Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington).
