The comer stone was laid by the Odd Fellows in 1962 with Rev. U.S. Brokenbum as acting pastor. He was installed as the sixth pastor in May, 1964.
Under his leadership many improvements were made such as new pews, new windows installed, new pulpit set, inside lavatories, and carpet installed. He died in 1992.
Mrs. Mary Fitzhugh was the former mother of the church. The present mother is Mrs. Lottie Aylor.
Memberships have increased and decreased over the years. They currently have an active membership of 30 members.
Deacons have been ordained, new clubs organized, and Mrs. Anna Lewis Allsberry is licensed and ordained.
