resignation of Graham Spencer as principal of the elementary school. Mr. Spencer, who had served as principal for four years, resigned to accept a position as an elementary principal in Prince William County.

Rappahannock Farmers Cooperative celebrated the second anniversary of its present location last weekend and among the specials were ten cent hotdogs and nickel Cokes served by 4-H’ers Charlotte and Amanda Magee of Amissville.

The discovery of four rabid raccoons in Warren County just a few miles from the Rappahannock County line adds a new concern to local worries about a rabies outbreak in this area. The four diseased raccoons wera captured during a ten day period in the 3,000 acre preserve near the National Park.

Robert Dennis from Wakefield District, James Leake, Clifford Miller and Donald Gore from Sperryville were nominated and approved to fill the vacancies on the Rappahannock Water and Sewer Authority at the Board of Supervisors’ meeting Aug. 10.

Robert Darby of Woodville formally announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the 31st District House of Delegates seat at the county courthouse Tuesday at noon. The 31st District includes all of Rappahannock and parts of Fauquier and Warren counties.
