Board that Trigon offered itfc lower cost Keycare 200 plan' when he told them that he; had to seek bids from other carriers.

This plan, he said, would fall within the health insurance budget, but would result in a larger deductible and increased employee contributions. He recommended that the Board approvei the’ Keycare 200 plan, and also attempt to preserve teacher' salary increase benefits by underwriting the cost of increased employee contribur tions.

That increase would amount to $21 per month for a single subscriber, $50 per month for a single subscriber and spouse, and $100 per month for a family plan subscriber. The total annual increase in employee contributions would amount to $50,000 which Dr. Ga-ngeJ said could be covered by. the school system with funds anticipated in the October appropriation. >• >•

The School Board approved Dr. Gangel’s recommendations, but these will not affect the increased cost of insurance to employees that is due to deducible changes. The deductible fifr single subscribers wilj increase $500 to $1500 annually, and for family plan subscribers it will increase $1000 to $3000 annually.
