yellowish-orange blossom that can be worn as an earring. If you were careful they would hang on for a long time. It appeared as though you had pieced ears. Whenever I see them, I remember the days I enjoyed wearing them.
For a real dress up treat, there were the geranium petals. These would stick to your finger nails, and you had artificial nails long before they were available. You would moisten your nail and the petal, then you would press them on your nails with the pointed end up.
This was a real addition to our dress up clothes, and some high heel shoes we would get from friends. We were whatever we pretended to be.
The wash weed was another flower we enjoyed. If you picked a blossom and rubbed it in your hands with water, it made a great lather like soap. We would pretend we were washing dishes or doll clothes.
While dandelions didn’t provide much of a play item for summer, certainly they were fun when the blossom would turn to seeds. We would see how many seeds we cold blow from the stem with one blow. The stem
