Someone hallucinating or experiencing altered perceptions may not be so easy to spot. How much use of “perception modifying” drugs a modem high-tech society can handle and still function is the critical question that has to be dealt with first. Once some toothpaste is out of the tube, it might be hard to squeeze back in. Still we cannot just sweep this problem under the rug as Tieckelmann reminds us.
