Every evening during 4-H camp was concluded with the campfire program. One of the many highlights of the campfire was the retiring of the American Flag.
Campers witnessing this beautiful, moving ceremony said it was one that would never be forgotten. The retiring of the American Flag taught campers about the symbol of freedom that represents all of our freedom and to remember those who gave of their lives for our freedom.
Many lasting 4-H friendships were made and will never be forgotten.
