Lois Markee provided th£ Board with an update on School Council activities including recent successes and goals established; Among the successes noted were: the' Substitute Training Committee’s provision of training, development of manuals, and the preschool Jump Start program; six days of technical and other training provided by the Staff Development ' Committee; a three hour class on teaching reading in content areas and work on ' securing a consultant to look at curriculum development performed by the Curriculum Improvement Committee; and the work of -the Communications Committep that included hosting of monthly roundtable to discuss issues of concern to staff, and their chairing of the goals-development group that established “learning for all-whatever it takes” as the primary goal of the School Council.
