Thirty-nine campers and 25 teen counselors from Rappahannock County 4-H attended the CulpeperShenandoah-Rappahannock
4-H Junior Camp, Aug. 5-9.
Campers and teens enjoyed a great week with exciting activities. One of many activities of the week included three class periods a day.
Volunteers from Rappahannock County were Jennifer Gray, who instructed the craft class; Cheryl Taylor, archery instructor; Holly Propst, art instructor; and Bill Welch, who was one of the rocketry instructors. We really appreciated the adult volunteers’ support.
Hazel Zinn-Day conducted Power Point classes, teaching youth this new exciting program that is now a county, district, and state 4-H competition.
Campers also enjoyed meeting in “pow wow” groups to practice for the evening campfire program, which is mostly of Indian culture/ritual.
Exciting evening programs were a pool party, dances, 4-H talent show, and a luau.
