District 3 runner up 16 and under team, Rappahannock, fought hard in the heat, but came up short in both their state games. This was the first appearance ever at the state games, but the girls played extremely well, losing their games by slim margins to Blue Ridge and Greene (the eventual state runner up).
Also noted was the fact that the other teams playing in this age division consisted primarily of 16 year olds with 15 year olds to fill in their rosters. Rappahannock’s team consisted of two 15 year olds,
