Rappahannock News Photo/Barbara C Wayland The annual Sperryville Volunteer firemen's carnival was held last week. A storm passed through the area before the Thursday evening event, however it didn't dampen the spirits of parade watchers. The Sperryville Methodist Church entered a float for the first time and won a first place trophy for it’s entry. An antique 1957 Massey Ferguson tractor pulled the float. It was reported that this same tractor pulled a float in the Sperryville parade in 1958. Bottom left photo: Ashleigh Pullen of Washington won the grand prize on Saturday evening of $500 cash and bottom right, Brianna Settle enjoyed the rides at the carnival.
