Assistants are cnosen from Cotillion graduates who demonstrate excellence by maintaining honor roll status at their school, committing to community service and leadership roles in their schools, churches and social organizations.
Viewtown Director Gail Turnbull says, “We are so proud of our outstanding group of young people who assist in the ongoing program. Not only are student assistants a vital part of our Cotillion, but they are outstanding examples in our community of teenagers who „pursue leadership, academic excellence, and refinement of person conduct and character.
The ceremony will take about 30 minutes from start to conclusion. It is significant that the ceremony will involve two organizations whose members have proven themselves valorous after September 11th: firefighters/EMTs, and postal service workers. Because of patriotism after the attack, more citizens in our area have become flag owners/displayers. Our volunteers will be proud to share with our community how to care for, display, and importantly, dispose of Old Glory.”
