The National League of Junior Cotillions, student volunteers, are preparing to • honor their community by the . formal ceremonial retirement *of a United States flag. The -^lag retirement will be conducted Flag Day, Friday, June - 14 at 5 p.m. and will be held at the Amissville Post Office.
Included in the all student volunteer performed ceremony will be: introductions of ceremony participants, review of flag etiquette, an explanation of ceremony procedure, a volunteer-led Pledge of Allegiance, a Cotillion volunteer color guard in Marine Junior R.O.T.C. uniform, student vocalist and musicians performing Taps, The Star Spangled Banner, and military style drum accompaniment, volunteer performed correct flag folding and burning, and lastly presentation of a new flag that has been flown over the U. S. Capitol.
