Youngsters from coast to coast wave little flags from their tiny hands at the Fourth of July parades. As our children grow and enter school, they stand tall, face the American flag, place their right hands over their hearts, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. And when our children become adults, and serve our country proudly, we honor the passing of fallen patriots by draping their coffins with the American flag. All across our land, and through all stages of our lives, we display the flag to show that we are indeed “one nation under God” regardless of our other differences.
