• Schools maintenance director Bill Deal, whose position was eliminated in thle Fiscal Year 2002-2003 budget, thanked Dr. Gangel and the Board for providing him with the opportunity to have worked in the school system, and made . an impassioned plea to the Board to consider “reinstating the position for another year-at " least until I can train, s person.” He expressed his concern that, with his and Dr. Gangel’s departures, no one would be available who knew the facilities and who would be able to deal with various agencies and contractors, or who could prepare bid specifications.
• Dr. Gangel announced that summer school is set for July 1-30 from 9 a.m. to noon.
