•John Douglas Estes. 81. of Culpeper died Thursday. June 6 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Estes was bom Sept. 14. 1920 in Lakota, Va.. a son of the late James A. Estes and Minnie Estes.
Mr. Estes was retired from Civil Service.
He and his wife were members of the Whittier Baptist Church in California. He had a love for gardening and enjoyed research especially cancer research.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years. Jane Atkins Estes of Culpeper, formerly of Rappahannock County; a son. Douglas Craig Estes of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Angela Marlene Estes of Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter,
