Congratulations

Rappahannock! You did it again! The 2002 Rappahannock County Relay for Life was a great success again this year despite the rainy weather that we had. The total figure so far is over $56,000 and still climbing.

The Relay is truly an inspiration to me and so many wonderful people in our community. Not only does it raise money for Cancer Research and Treatment, it also honors our Cancer Survivors and remembers our friends and loved ones that have lost their battle to this dreadful disease. The Relay is also about our community that has taken up a fight against cancer and will stop at nothing until we find a cure.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone that has helped make this year’s event so special. They are our Team Captains, Team Members, Donors, Supporters, Committee Chairpersons, Sponsors and everyone that helped during the event.

Many thanks to our Event Sponsors who were: Rappahannock News, Rappahannock National Bank, Rappahannock Lions Club, Rappahannock Elementary School, Settle’s Grocery & Garage, Pepsi Cola, Sunbelt Rentals, Geneva Welch Artist, The Middleton Inn, Washington Baptist Church, DJ Bobby Lytton, Early’s Carpet Inc., and Hall Mechanical & Associates.

Special thanks to Mark Bhein of Cornucopia Farm for the release of the beautiful white Doves during the opening ceremony and to Shawn Majors and Kevin Broome for
