Fauquier Community Theatre will hokJ auditions for "A Christmas Story,” on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon and on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at its new theater building at Vint Hill Farms Station, Warrenton.
There are roles for adults and children.
Performance dates for the show are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1,7,8, 14 and 15.

Stories workshop
A three-day Life Stories workshop taught by Julie Portman is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18-20 in Washington. Ms. Portman is an Obie award winning writer and performer whose most recent play, Three Roses, was broadcast on public television this fall.
She has written a series of plays inspired by personal stories and believes that everyone has a unique story to tell and the need for that story to be heard.
The workshop is for anyone who want to learn how to transform their life experiences into stories or get some fresh inspiration to continue their writing and storytelling. Participation is limited to 12 people. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and the cost is $325.
