plants for the classroom, cookies for a birthday. The sound of a stumping foot announces Mrs. Tbresa Mountjoy, as she hobbles around with her foot in a cast. The students tease her, threatening to break the other foot. There’s laughter starting the day.
A sense of well-being settles in, as the bell rings. Where am I, in this picture91 have a small office, with two comfy chairs that show the signs of being much-loved. Both chairs are filled with kid-pillows; teachers and students alike clutch them while they talk about their day, their problems, or ask for advice. SpongeBob is alive and well in my office, as well as various art projects done by the students. Everyone is welcome here, and for such a little space, it is often filled to capacity.
What makes a school? Tbugh academics, strict dress guidelines', caring teachers, involved parents, and students who want to excel. Is it power? Is it brick and mortar? It comes from the heart, and what we have at WCDS is not often found in school systems. We are so lucky to have such a special place to raise our children, educate them, and to bond with each other as a family. I love what I do here at Wakefield Country Day School, and every day is a blessing.
