minute to play, Culpeper scored their third goal when a Killer Bee defender launched a hard clearing shot out of the Rapp goalie box, but it ricocheted off the shin guards of a Culpeper player and just past the Rapp keeper. At the halfway point in the fall season, the Killer Bees are 2-1-1.
The boys U-10 team coached by Carl Letsen and sponsored by White Oak Veterinary, was a great game. The Culpeper team was winning 2-0 in the first half. Tteam Thunder came back and tied the game 2-2.
Jonathan Letsen assisted the first goal that Woody Hazel scored. The second goal was scored by Tanyon Lee. Andrew Oyster held his position playing a strong defense.
U-12
On a windswept sunny morning with the smell of fresh rain in the air, the U12 Rappahannock Boy’s Team, sponsored by Blue Water Builders, played their most flawless game to date with a 4-2 victory over a well-coached Madison team. The entire team quickly shook off it’s early morning lethargy and started the game with a synchronized intensity unmatched in the annuls of 9 a.m. matches.
Rappahannock scored first and maintained an impenetrable defensive wall led by Gavin Forrest, Chris Nugent, BJ Dodson, Cody Dodson and goalie, Evan “Intensity” Espinola. Our midfielders, including Michael Landrum, Austin Burdick, Dustin Milam, Conner Foley, Steve Nelson and Tyler Burdick, played a very smart game of defensive dependability peppered with offensive prowess.
On the wings, Oliver Brass and Gary White protected against sideline attacks while selflessly passing the ball to the middle for key assists. Strikers Dean Hogan and Joey “The Bullet” Wenk each pounded in two goals and finished strong, providing key defensive support in the final minutes. Special thanks to Kurt Milam for coaching and Mark Wallace for leading in field preparation.
