Rappahannock Youth Soccer League played its fourth weekend of games, Sept. 28.

U-8

Coach Lee’s U-8 Fireballs, sponsored by Motorcycle Factory Inc. traveled to Madison Primary Saturday morning and the whole team was on fire! From the start of the first quarter, Ben Gillis, Bill Hogan, Peter Lee, Hanna Jenkins and Seth Wayland displayed great teamwork in scoring several goals. Lauren Eline, Ben Estes, Conor CHeir and Brigid Sladky held their own as they too kicked in goals past the Madison goalie.

The Crawford U-8 Green Dragons had a tough game against the Madison 1 team at RCES. The Dragons defensive players, Alex Foster, R.T Leake, Samantha Landrum and Marc Cugnon played tough, stopping many scoring attempts. The offensive playing was terrific with many players trying out new positions.

Kimberly Pankow, Mimi White and Emily Pearcy did a wonderful job against the big boys of Madison!

Cdach Foley’s U-8 Blue Gators, sponsored by Rush River Farm, played Madison at RCES. Peyton Bailey scored a goal with Patrick Foley as goalie and Rodney Davis playing his best at forward.

U-10

The U-10 Killer Bees, sponsored by Sunnyside Farms, took their swarm to a damp (albeit much needed) field last Saturday. With just two subs available, the Rapp girls played a long game against a fresh, strong Culpeper squad. Maria Lee and Brittany Stephens shared goalie duties, and at the end of the first half Culpeper held a 1-nil advantage. The Killer Bees buzzed all over the field and had several shots, but the experienced Culpeper goalie kept coming up With stops.

Midway through the second half, Rapp forward Katy Huang found the back of the Culpeper net, knotting the game and 1-1. But just moments later, a Culpeper forward, in a rarity for this age level, lofted a shot over the outstretched arms of the Rapp goalie. Then with just a
