A harvest of seeds

The late summer garden offers still many harvests of vegetables and bright flowers. The first breezes of cooler weather and shorter days are beginning to shake loose the desultory grip of an extraordinarily hot summer.
Looking more closely among the browning plants, a sharp-eyed gardener will spot an additional harvest, not for eating or admiring just yet, arrayed in great variety of texture, shape and size but limited to a more tertiary palette. This is the seed harvest, the making of new gardens.
Every seed originating from nature is a fully packaged blueprint, containing all the information and instructions necessary to interact with an environment of air, water, light, soil and climate, even animals, insects and plants, and grow to maturity. I am in awe of the intelligence
