The golf team earned a Region B birth with a second place finish in the Bull Run District Tournament. Brian Taylor shot an 81 and was the low medalist in the District Tburnament. Michael Fairbrother had an 85 as the Panthers came within eight strokes of Tburnament winner Brentsville District, the only team to beat the Panther linksters this season.
Girls’ basketball
The varsity girls’ basketball team dropped two contests for the week and their record fell to 0-11 on the season. The team lost a close contest to Manassas Park as the team held the lead for much of the first half only to have the Cougars pull away from them in the second half. George Mason defeated the Lady Panthers 61-26 as Brittany Thornhill and Rachel Sharp spearheaded a fourth quarter rally that fell short.
The JV girls’ basketball team split two games defeating Manassas Park but dropping a game to George Mason. Dani Siccardi, Sheri Woodward and Samantha Brown paced the team in the win over Manassas Park.
